TomKen Plastic Technologies Expanding

(September 1, 2011-Muncie, IN) TomKen Plastic Technologies is expanding its manufacturing facility in the Airpark Industrial Park in Muncie. TomKen will be constructing a 15,000 square foot addition to its existing facility, investing $2.0 million in real estate and equipment, and creating up to 10 new jobs. The building expansion will increase the capabilities of the injection molding division with space for up to14 molding machines. The new molding facility will feature a 10-ton clear span crane to facilitate mold changes. Construction will begin in early September with completion scheduled by January 1. The company specializes in injection molding for automotive, medical, and electronic markets as well as mold building of precision plastic injection molds.

Our employees have worked hard to make it through some hard economic times and our customers have rewarded us with additional contracts. We have had excellent support from the City of Muncie, the State of Indiana, and First Merchants Bank to make this possible,” said Bruce Carmicheal, Tomken Plastic Technologies.
