Muncie-Delaware County Launches New World Class Website
Muncie, IN May 28, 2010 -- The
Muncie-Delaware County Economic Development Alliance and
Muncie-Delaware County Chamber of Commerce are pleased to announce that they have partnered to provide a depth of information and content at their newly launched website,
www.muncie.com.
As of Friday, May 28, 2010, Muncie-Delaware County has a new web presence that includes
company databases, a GIS-based
sites & buildings database,
incentive information,
map center, and report generator. In addition, the site includes a great number of links and data downloads to provide the type of information that local businesses, site selectors and prospects seek. It provides tools that allow visitors to view available properties and search by square footage, use, cost and available infrastructure. In addition, corresponding demographic reports such as labor force, wages and consumer spending can be created directly from the site.
"We expect that this website will be a hub for companies investigating locating in Muncie-Delaware County, and will serve as a tremendous resource to our local business community. We understand that companies are using online information when they engage, and we want to be at the forefront of meeting those needs," said
Jay Julian, President and CEO of the Muncie-Delaware County Chamber of Commerce. "The Chamber section of this site will also serve as a leading interface to connect businesses and people looking to find and/or do business with Muncie-Delaware County Chamber of Commerce members and will promote Chamber events and activities," added Julian.
Mark James, President of ED Solutions, Inc. and a national consultant specializing in website development states that ninety percent (90%) of business site-location research happens on the Internet before a site selector picks up the phone and calls an organization to delve deeper into a community, region or state. "Without an effective web presence, Muncie-Delaware County could get bypassed without even knowing it lost its chance," said
Terry Murphy, Vice President, Economic Development for the Muncie-Delaware County Economic Development Alliance. "Today, the first stop for site selectors is the Internet, and they're looking for more than a listing of available properties. They want in-depth details and extensive
demographic,
incentive,
education,
utility,
quality of life, and
mapping information that they can customize for their needs. With www.muncie.com we can now quickly provide the precise information they need."
The Alliance and Chamber worked with
Atlas Advertising, whose economic development campaigns have been named among the best in the country by
International Economic Development Council and
Angelou Economics, and have won awards regionally from business to business marketing organizations.
