Gaynelle Junga was raised on a farm near Lawrenceburg, Indiana. She graduated from the University of Evansville in 1979, Magna Cum Laude, with a Bachelor of Science degree in Business. In 1985, she obtained her CPA license.

Gaynelle began her career with Delco Remy, a components division of General Motors. From 1979 to 1987 she held various financial positions in cost, forecast, budget and in a manufacturing plant as controller. From 1987 until 1998 Gaynelle assumed supervisory positions in disbursement analysis, accounts receivable and cost. Also during that time she was responsible for implementing three new financial systems and a new archival system.

In 1998 Gaynelle sought a career change that would allow her to continue working, but also offer the flexibility to spend more time with her family. She assumed the Controller position in a job-sharing environment for the Muncie-Delaware County Chamber of Commerce, Delaware Advancement Corporation and the Horizon Convention Center.

Gaynelle and her husband have two sons.
