Delaware Dynamics, LLC Expanding

(June 28, 2011 - Muncie, IN) The Economic Development Alliance staff worked with Delaware Dynamics, a new company in Muncie, IN that took over much of the assets of the former Delaware Machinery & Tool. In an attempt to bolster their position in the market, Delaware Dynamics understood that they needed to undertake a capital investment in new information/technology equipment, for both engineering hardware and software.

The Alliance staff assisted them with a training grant application and through the tax abatement process. The new acquisitions will enable Delaware County to remain competitive in bidding with the major automobile suppliers. This particular acquisition will be used in development of a new 9-speed, front wheel drive for Chrysler’s 2013 model year platform. The abatement will also help Delaware Dynamics retain all 92 of their existing employees and assist in the creation of 8 new jobs. The anticipated payroll for these 8 new jobs was projected to be $416,000 annually.

"Existing business projects provide the vast majority of new jobs in a community. Delaware Dynamics is a perfect example. We are excited about the future of this company and its continued economic growth potential," said Jay Julian, President and CEO of the Muncie-Delaware County Chamber of Commerce.

Future work from other automobile manufacturers is hoped for and anticipated with this upgrade. This new information/technology equipment was approved by the Muncie City Council at its Monday, May 2 meeting for a five year abatement schedule.
