(Muncie, IN, December 10, 2010) The
Mid-America Economic Development Council (MAEDC) presented its annual “Best of the Midwest” Economic Development awards at the 2010 Mid-America Competitiveness Conference & Site Selector Forum, held December 5-7 at the Intercontinental Hotel in Chicago. First place in the website category was awarded to the Muncie-Delaware County Economic Development Alliance for their website,
muncie.com.
Traci Lutton, Project Manager for the Alliance was present to accept the award from Brian Vasa, 2010 MAEDC President and Ron Starner, Executive VP and General Manager,
Site Selection Magazine.
“The Alliance took into consideration economic development best practices and the needs of multiple audiences including site location consultants, existing business owners, foreign investors, Chamber of Commerce members, and individuals seeking relocation information. The creation of a user-friendly, well-designed site that would provide comprehensive information to all potential audiences was the overall goal during the development process. Receiving the Best of the Midwest honor is validation that we achieved that goal. Special thanks goes to our partners on the project, Atlas Advertising Mark James, ED Solutions, and AEP,” said Lutton. “The judges noted that they were impressed with the depth of information on the site, the excellent use of data standards, the customizable data cart with share and print functions, and the sites and buildings database,” added Lutton.
Ben Wright, CEO,
Atlas Advertising, noted that “Atlas Advertising has been pleased to work with the Muncie-Delaware County Economic Development Alliance for the past two years. Muncie, IN is a great Midwestern city with great leadership, and both are reflected in the content and performance of their website. Bravo Muncie!”
“The Muncie-Delaware County website is a best-in-class economic development site. It has met or exceeded other sites in terms of solid mapping, accurate and complete sets of demographics, sites and building records and solid information about the organization and their services. I have no doubt the site is a huge asset for the organization,” said Mark James,
ED Solutions.
