Al Pete Meats Adding 55-75 New Jobs

Muncie, IN (August 21, 2008)  - Al Pete Meats, Inc. continues to grow with its new ownership group in Muncie. Al Pete Meats, Inc., is being purchased and expanded by Monogram Foods, LLC. The project is expected to result in 40 new jobs in the first year and 55 to 75 jobs over the next three years. The company currently has 20 employees. This is the company's second expansion announcement this year.

The Muncie plant, located at 2100 E. Willard, will continue its main product line of "Pete"s Pride" pork fritters. A second line, once used for the production of vegetarian corndogs for Kellogg, will be re-activated. In addition, a second corndog line will be put into place, effectively doubling capacity. A second shift will be added once the new line is in place.

Al Pete Meats, Inc. has been in business locally since 1961. This project is part of a merger and acquisition of the company by Monogram Food Solutions, LLC. is headquartered in Memphis, TN. Monogram has over 160 employees nationwide with facilities in Tennessee, Texas and Minnesota. They specialize in hot dogs, corndogs, beef jerky, smoked sausage and other meat snack items.

The Muncie-Delaware County Economic Development Alliance staff worked with Monogram Foods, LLC in obtaining $300,000 in financing through the Muncie Industrial Revolving Loan Fund Board. That $300,000 will be part of the total project of $2,850,000.
